Again on wanting better in Jesus. There’s nothing wrong with desiring increase in the Lord. The Lord is a God of increase, that’s just how He Is. He Himself is always looking for more(John15:1-2). And that’s why He sent Jesus so He can get more, and so we can be and have better(John10:10). So it’s not a big thing if we seek the same. As long as it’s done in Spirit and in truth, according to His Will, through Him and His Son Jesus.
Everything God has is for us, His children. So He won’t be upset if we ask Him for somethings or that we desire such things. As long as we are in right standing with Him and our motives are pure, it’s all good. We can receive if we ask in faith for the right reasons(Jam.4:1-3).
Remember God owns the cattle on a thousand hills and He has the whole world in His hand. And God desires to and will give it to us His children, that do His Will(Ps.2:8; 37:4; 84:11; Pro.8:21; Matt.5:5; Eph.1:18-19; Rev.21:7). So let’s desire better. Whatever better for us in and with Jesus may be. He can and will supply it all, by His grace.
So let’s not wait until it’s too late. Because we can miss out on our blessings for lack of striving to obtain. And then when it’s too late we may try, but the damage may already be done, and could be irreversible(Num.14:20-24,39-45; Heb.12:14-17). Lord have mercy.
God can and will do more than supply our needs. So let’s be humble and balanced; and as He opens doors for us, let’s walk through them. And let’s desire better as the Lord leads us to. He has it all for us, His children(1Tim.6:17; Jam.1:16-18).
So again we should want better with Jesus, in the Spirit, always. And let us remember, we already have better, since we are in Christ Jesus. So let’s strive to receive it all(Luke15:31-32). Lord show us how. By the grace of God. In Jesus name.

Amen. We just have to be careful that we are as you said seeking better according to His will and Word and not according to the world or our neighbor. I guess it can be tricky because on one hand someone else’s better can be encouragement to us that if He did it for them He can do it for us, but it doesn’t always have to be the same way, the same thing or the same timing. This is the importance of knowing God and having a pure heart before Him.
