Revised Repost.
As believers in Christ Jesus, we should desire better in the Lord. We’re dealing with the King of kings and Lord of lords, the Great I Am. Plus since, or if we are in Jesus, we already have better with Him. Hallelujah!
It may seem hard to find that balance between walking in the Spirit and getting caught up in things of this world, though. There is a thin line between doing, getting, and wanting what’s right and necessary, versus going overboard. But Jesus has prayed for us and is still making intercession for us, for those exact reasons(John17:9-21; Rom.8:26-28). Thank You Lord!
Jesus understands this and we should seek to understand this as well. Because we could be going through life not experiencing all the good things God has in store for us; all because we are ignorant, afraid, too prideful or too lazy to seek God for better. Lord, have mercy.
See it is good to lean-to the side of caution(Pro.30:7-9). But if God has something greater in store, we may be required to step outside of our comfort zone. And we may need to dig deeper in faith, or we could miss out and could probably end up in disobedience, for our lack of striving and faith(2Kings13:14-19). Which is something we don’t and shouldn’t want. Lord, have mercy.
There are times we as believers will have to throw that same caution to the wind, and step out in faith, despite of what things feel, sound and look like. No matter how many nay sayers we may have. If God says, we can do so and we can have, with Jesus in our lives, we can obtain and must do so(Matt.14:22-29).
It’s alright to have a desire for better in the Lord. And we should desire much better with Jesus. But let’s have a balance and make sure it’s in and through the Spirit first and foremost. God knows and He’ll be right there helping us reach our goals for greater in and with Him. And remember even if we start to sink in the process of reaching out, if we cry out to Jesus, He will help and save us, always. So let’s strive to do so. But let’s stay humble and in the Spirit as we do so(Heb.6:7-12). By the grace of God. In Jesus name.
