We all may look down harshly on others and even ourselves, in one way or another, in our moments of examining things at times. Especially those of us who haven’t renewed our mind in the Word of God. To the point where most people, always seem to be critical to others and themselves. It’s a shrewd tactic of the enemy at times, and part of human nature it seems. But thank God, He’s not like that(1Sam.16:7). For He sees differently. Hallelujah!
If we don’t know the Lord through Christ Jesus, it may be hard to understand how God truly sees us. And It will be even harder to see that He loves us in spite of our mess ups at times. That definitely will be the case, if we are listening to the devil, or any other who may be painting the wrong picture of how and who God really is, and how He loves us so. But let’s always remember He truly does(John3:16).
So it’s best we strive to learn these things ourselves. By humbling ourselves and seeking God’s face for the truth concerning who He Is and the love He really has for us(Ps.24:3-10). Because it’s true we may not be deserving and unprofitable on our own(Luke17:10), but by His amazing grace and great love for us, He’s made us deserving in and through Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!
God gave us His best when we weren’t deserving of the least(Rom.5:6-10). Again, He’s not like us. But He does desire and look for faithfulness and thanksgiving in return. And He won’t give us somethings until we show we are faithful and can do what we are to do, by being responsible(Luke16:10-13). Not by trying to make ourselves deserving, because only He can do so.
So let’s be thankful to God, if we truly have a good relationship with Him in Christ Jesus. Yes we may not be deserving but He knows that, and that should only bring about more praise, glory, honor and gratitude to Him. Because He Is deserving of it all. As He deals with us according to His love, and not according to man’s definition of the term, or other things(Deut.9:4-6). Thank You Lord!
So although we are to be real when critiquing ourselves, let’s strive not to look down too hard on ourselves when we’re giving our all, let’s neither let others judge us wrongly(1John3:19-21). Because we may have started out undeserving, and although that’s so, God didn’t and doesn’t deal with us that way. And in Jesus He’s made us not only deserving but extremely blessed, and seated at His right hand. And He wants us and all to know that it is and will be so(John17:20-26; Eph.2:1-8). Glory to God! By the grace of God. In Jesus name.
